In a circle, she spun.
She smiled as rainbow streams of light, painted by the stained glass windows, danced across her skin. The rhythmic click, click, click of toenails on marble flooring barely registered.
Suddenly the hairs on her arms and the nape of her neck stood at attention. She wasn’t alone. Trepidation forced her neck to swivel backwards.
Giggles burst forth as her eyes spied the goofy mess of black and white fur sitting behind her. The fur became a blur of motion as her pup wiggled an enthusiastic, “Hello.”
